SWTOR Sith Sorcerer Guide

Since the Sith Sorcerer is my main class in-game, I have decided to put together an SWTOR Sith Sorcerer guide to give players of this class insight into the most detailed aspects of this class.

Our Sith Sorcerer guide is nearing completion. Here is the table of contents:

Below, you will discover an overview of the guide and what you can expect to find in each section.

SWTOR Sith Sorcerer Guide – Roles and Overview

The Sith Sorcerer is an advanced class of the Sith Inquisitor that is capable of both healing and damage-dealing. While it wears light armor, it has a variety of abilities including shields, knockbacks, stuns, and healing that allow it to become quite survivable.

While all Sith Sorcerers have some native healing abilities, you unlock most of your healing power from speccing into the Corruption talent tree. This gives you access to channeled and instant healing spells, whereas other Sith Sorcerers have to make do with longer, channeled heals.

The Sith Sorcerer is effective as a DPS class and healing class in both PvE and PvP. It is a very viable damage-dealing class and can do quite a bit of damage. However, due to its incredible utility, I find that this class really excels at PvP. Its damage is not necessarily over the top, but its ability to perform so many vital functions in a Warzone and its strength in 1v1 battles makes it an indispensable class to have in PvP.

The Sith Sorcerer is also an effective healer, but I would not go as far to say they are as strong as healers as some of the other advanced classes. It seems that both Bounty Hunters and Imperial Agents both have more output than the Sorcerer. This does not mean you cannot heal with this class (you certainly can), it is just that given its strength in DPS and wide utility at the moment, I feel that at least for PvP a healing Sorcerer is throwing away his (or her) class’s true potential.

Star Wars The Old Republic Sith Sorcerer Guide – Abilities List

This guide is now complete and contains a full article/guide for every Sith Sorcerer ability, including where this spell fits into your rotations, the coefficient for how it scales (if noteworthy), and the best strategies for using each spell in PvE, PvP, and when leveling up!

SWTOR Sith Sorcerer Guide – Builds

As mentioned in the last section, I do prefer to use a damage-dealing build with my Sorcerer. However, there are a variety of damage-dealing builds available, as well as variations of your main healing build for PvE and PvP.

While there are a variety of builds you can choose from, I consider there to be 4 viable builds for the Sith Sorcerer:

  • Full Corruption (healing for PvP and PvE)
  • Full Lighting, subpoints in Madness (PvE DPS))
  • Madness/Corruption Hybrid (28 Madness/13 Corruption) – My Preferred PvP Build for Huttball, DPS mostly but gives some healing capability.
  • Madness/Lightning (28 Madness/13 Lightning) – My preferred PvE and PvP build for raw DPS – some skill points shift depending on your focus – but I believe this hybrid build dishes out more damage than full Lightning spec.

You can get a full list of these builds as well as specific talent recommendations in our section on SWTOR Sith Sorcerer Builds.

SWTOR Sith Sorcerer Guide – Talents

If you are not ready to jump into the builds section or want more details on why I chose specific talents, you can check our our Sith Sorcerer Talents guide. In this guide, we break down each of the three talent trees, talent by talent, explaining what makes this talent useful or useless and for what specs these talents are good for.

We classify each talent as mandatory, useful (personal choice) or useless based on your role (healing, DPS, or utility) and your chosen action (PvE or PvP). You can even use this knowledge create your own top-tier builds for very specific areas of the game (i.e. “Huttball spec” for Imperial players who always get Huttball as their Warzone due to faction imbalance).

Star Wars The Old Republic Sith Sorcerer Guides – Leveling and PvP Guides

If you have already read our general SWTOR leveling guide, you know that leveling in SWTOR is pretty easy. In this section, we will go over some additional tricks and tips you can use to make the leveling process easier (i.e. builds, companion recommendations, and so on).

Since my favorite activity in SWTOR is PvP, I plan to make the Sith Sorcerer PvP guide pretty thick. I may also add some video guides to demonstrate some of the tips you can use with this Star Wars Sith Sorcerer Guide to pick up specific strategies for Warzones and get more ideas for how to make the most out of your abilities.
