In this SWTOR Sith Warrior stats guide, we will be discussing the most important stats for both Sith Warrior advanced classes in Star Wars The Old Republic.

We will break this section down into five sections: an overview of primary stats, Marauder & Juggernaut DPS, damage-dealing in PvP, Juggernaut tanking in PvE, and Juggernaut tanking in PvP.

SWTOR Sith Warrior Stats Guide – Primary Stats Overview

Out of all the primary stats for the Sith Warrior, Strength and Endurance are the only two stats which really matter. Here is why:

Strength increases the damage of all attacks (including Force attacks) as well as increasing your critical hit rate. For DPS classes, this means more damage. For tanks, this means better threat generation.
Endurance increases your total health and slightly increases your health regeneration. Of course, the max health increase is what we are after here.

All damage-dealing classes want to grab Strength as a primary stat, regardless of advanced class. Juggernaut tanks should focus on Endurance above all else; strength will simply increase your threat generation and damage.

Willpower has a minor effect on the damage of your force abilities, but is not worth going out of your way to get as strength offers the same damage increase to force abilities plus strength improves melee attacks too.

Presence improves your companion’s strength, health, and healing, and can be useful for leveling up and soloing, but serves no real function in PvP or in end-game.

Cunning and Aim do nothing for the Sith Warrior, so stay away from gear with these two stats. These effect ranged and tech-based attacks, and the Sith Warrior has neither of these.

Finally, Expertise is a must-have stat for high-level PvP. Always wear your Expertise gear in PvP, as mentioned below in the PvP sections.

SWTOR Marauder Stats Guide – PvE DPS Secondary Stats

As mentioned above, DPS-specced Sith Warriors should focus on maxing out Strength first, and then endurance. In this section of the SWTOR Sith Warrior stats guide, we will look at the important secondary stats for the Marauder and Juggernaut in when it comes to PvE DPS.

Accuracy: Accuracy increases the accuracy of your attacks. Once it reaches 100%, it starts to reduce enemy armor. This is arguably the most important secondary stat for DPS Sith Warriors. DPS Juggernauts should bring this up to 105% (enough to max out accuracy and PvE armor piercing – though this depends on what armor debuffs your group is using). For Marauders, it is virtually impossible to have too much accuracy, since your off-hand light saber has low starting accuracy, so get it whenever you can.
Alacrity: Increases the speed at which spells channel and decreases your global cooldown, allowing you to attack faster. This stats becomes more useful as your gear gets better; attacking more frequently naturally does more for your DPS as each of your attacks gets more powerful.
Critical Rating: Increases your chance to critical hit with all attacks. Just like Alacrity, this gets better as your gear gets better. It is a good stat, but you at least want to get your Accuracy to 100% on your mainhand before worrying about it.
Force Power: Increases the damage of your Force abilities. Since most of your damage is melee-based, this is not that great of a stat. Then again, it only really appears on Lightsabers and off-hands – just be sure not to seek it out should it appear on Implants or Earrings.
Power: Increases all damage types. It is a good stat when you can get it, but it really is not common on anything aside from Earrings and Implants. Gear with both Strength and Power on it though are great pieces to get.
Surge: Increases the damage bonus of your critical hits. This is more of a PvP stat than a PvE stat, as accuracy, strength, power, and alacrity are typically better for DPS than Surge. Of course, this could change should your critical hit rate become very high. It scales exponentially with gear strength; players with poor gear will get almost no benefit out of it, whereas those in top-end gear can see big damage increases from this stat.

In short, your most important SWTOR Sith Warrior stats as a DPS class are Strength and Accuracy. As your gear gets better, look for pieces which contain Strength, Power, and Accuracy. For DPS, Alacrity and Critical Rating are your secondary stats which get much better as your gear gets better. Surge is a tertiary stat and is most useful for players with big base damage and high crit rates (i.e. full purple gear).

SWTOR Marauder Stats Guide – PvP Stats

For PvP, the same secondary stats come into play for the Marauder and DPS-specced Juggernauts, but their importance changes. Endurance and Strength are both equally important in PvP, so you want gear that maximizes both of these stats.

Additionally, Expertise becomes your #1 stat in for PvP. You can find this on all the PvP gear in the game. Expertise is so good because not only does it decrease the amount of damage you take from enemy players, but it also increases your healing and damage outputs. This makes it a far superior stat to World of Warcraft’s Resilience – don’t even think about subbing PvE gear out for PvP gear unless you want to get crushed. Perhaps the only exception to this rule is if you have a really nice PvE weapon, as its easier to pick up Expertise on armor than weapons.

For secondary stats, your best bets become Critical Rating, Alacrity, and Surge. You need burst damage rather than steady damage in PvP. This makes Critical Rating and Surge much better than Accuracy, whereas in PvE, accuracy is an excellent stat. Additionally, Alacrity is extremely useful as it allows you to use your abilities quicker. This means you can chain together moves such as spell interrupts, stuns, snares, and other important PvP utility moves at a faster rate.

Accuracy is still good up to 100%, but after that there are serious diminishing returns for PvP. Chaining together a few crits is many times more useful than steadily getting in extra off-hand hits throughout an entire Warzone.

Fortunately, the PvP gear is good in this regard. You get some accuracy, but not too much, and plenty of Expertise, Power, Strength, Endurance, Alacrity, Critical Rating and Surge. For PvP, pick up your PvP sets – they are very well budgeted.

SWTOR Juggernaut Stats – PvE Tanking

As mentioned in the beginning of this article, the only important primary stat for the Juggernaut is endurance. You want to max this out over all other primary stats, as max health is more important than any other stat for a tank in SWTOR.

Strength is not a bad primary stat to pick up, as it helps improve threat generation, but it is always secondary to endurance. Always look for the Heavy Armor which has the most endurance (endurance should always be higher than strength), as this is the gear for the Juggernaut tank.

Here is a list of the relevant secondary stats:

Shield: Increases your chance to block.
Absortion: Increases the amount of damage your shield can block.
Armor: Decreases the amount of damage you receive from all kinetic (physical) and energy attacks. Most attacks in the game fit these two classes – Force Lightning for example is an energy attack, whereas many of the Trooper’s attacks are kinetic. Only elemental and internal damage attacks avoid armor, and these are not common.
Defense Rating: Increases your parry and deflection, which allows you to deflect melee and ranged attacks respectively.
Accuracy: Accuracy is not a bad tanking stat to get to 100% just to improve threat generation should that be an issue for you.

Your most important secondary stat as a tank is Armor. Armor is better than all other secondary tanking stats in the game as armor provides mitigation whereas all other tanking stats offer avoidance.

This means that armor actually reduces the amount of damage you take per hit. With 20% damage reduction from armor, a 1,000 damage hit will be reduced to 800 damage per hit. This is true damage mitigation.

Compare that to having 20% parry. This means that a 1,000 damage hit will hit you 8 times out of 10 for 1,000 damage and two of those times you may block it. This is damage avoidance.

From your healer’s perspective, many fights the boss does enough damage where you cannot count on avoidance to keep the tank alive since it is random, and as such you heal preemptively. Mitigation and high health on the other hand keep the damage intake steady on the tank and it makes the tank much easier to heal.

As a result, your priority order when evaluating gear should be Endurance, then armor, then everything else (Shield, Absorption, Defense). Add strength and accuracy to improve threat generation should that ever become an issue.

SWTOR Juggernaut Stats – PvP Stats

If you want to try out the tanking role in PvP, simply max out Endurance, Strength, Expertise, and Armor. Since Expertise does so much in PvP, you will want to grab some Juggernaut-style PvP gear rather than use your typical raid gear. Expertise is far better than things like Shield, Defense, Absorption stats for PvP.

SWTOR Sith Warrior Stats Guide Conclusion

For the most part, you do not have to go out of your way to select the best SWTOR Sith Warrior stats as gear tends to be well-itemized in Star Wars The Old Republic (unlike in other MMORPGs at launch). Sith Warriors that want to DPS should just focus on maxing out Strength and looking to any gear with Accuracy and Power as a secondary stat. Critical Rating, Alacrity, and Surge are good stats too, but these get better as your gear gets better, which makes them secondary to Accuracy and Power for most players.

Tanks on the other hand just have to max out Endurance and Armor. Beyond that, add on Shield, Absorption, and Defense Rating for extra avoidance and Strength and Accuracy for more threat generation.
